The North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB) was introduced in June of 1991 in place of the Boston Indian Council (BIC), which was first established in 1976. The community-based, non-profit agency has always resided at 105 South Huntington Avenue, which is on the last stop of the MBTA's Green Line "E" trolley or the Heath Street stop on the #39 bus line. Currently, NAICOB's Community Health Program addresses the needs of the 6,000 Native Americans and Alaskan Natives that live within the forty-mile radius of our offices, and the Employment and Training Department provides services to Native Americans living in the following counties: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Worcester.
