The Indian Health Service Department’s mission at NAICOB is to assist in raising the level of health care for American Indians and Alaskan Natives in the Greater Boston area. Those within a forty mile radius of our Center are eligible for Indian Health Services. The Boston service population currently represents more than thirty-eight tribal nations.
UHP approaches health from a preventative perspective and by reinforcing traditional cultural methods for maintaining health-physically, mentally, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually. We believe that by maintaining a healthy state of mind, body, and spirit through proper nutrition, exercise, and inner fortification, an individual will be able to contribute to overall wellness and sustenance of the community. The avenues for health improvement in our community include on-site workshops, advocacy, referrals, counseling , and collaborative health organizational functions, forums and presentations.
