WIA stands for Work Force Investment Act. The goal of which is to improve the basic and occupational skills that will qualify Native American clients for employment and advanced educational training. We help our clients with job searches, on and off-site skills training programs, youth tutoring & career exploration, work experience positions, College exploration & assistance, resume writing & interviewing skills, and retention skills. We also refer our clients to outside training and GED programs, as appropriate.

Who is eligible to Participate?
This Employment and Training program serves Native Americans living in the following counties: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Worcester
Are there other requirements?
Yes. The Department of Labor states that you must meet certain requirements and guidelines to be eligible for services.
These include:
- Proof of Native American, Native Alaskan, or Native Hawaiian ancestry (band card or tribal enrollment of individual, or their parent)
- Be a citizen, eligible non-citizen, or North American Native
- Be economically disadvantaged, or unemployed, or working part time or in need of upgrading or retraining
- Youth mist be enrolled in school and at least 14 years old.
